School for the Arts

The School for the Arts opened its doors in 1995 to all residents of Long Island and the New York metropolitan area. The School for the Arts offers a wide range of classes in art, music, voice, dance, drama, fencing, chess, ceramics, crafts and film to students of all ages. Classes have been developed to cover a broad spectrum of educational needs from pre-school to adult. Curricula, prepared and taught by New York State certified arts teachers and professionals, renowned in their fields, meet educational standards and offer the best in arts education.

 

NEW CHILDREN'S CLASS

Dance Like the Stars

Learn all the latest hip hop and jazz dance steps to your favorite music! You’ll be performing like your favorite movie and TV actors in no time. Grades 2-4, Instructor-Jennifer Moraitis.

NEW CHILDREN'S CLASS

Sew It Up!

Study fabrics and trims while you learn to sew by hand. Students will create pin cushions, bean bag bears, decorative pillows, and canvas totes. Learn skills used for designing and get ready to be introduced to the sewing machine. Grades 2-4, 5-8, Instructor-Rita Wilmers.

SummerArts Camp 2008

 

SummerArts is our renowned visual and performing arts camp that engages children in creativity discovery through art, ceramics, dance, drama and music. Our convenient and flexible program allows students to register for the days or weeks that work their summer schedule! Come for the full 9 week program, or select specific weeks to attend. You can even register for a few summer days or even half day(s). (Registration is based upon availability.)
