The Great Neck Arts Center will host stage and screen legend Celeste Holm in a celebration of her career on Wednesday, July 23 at 7 p.m. The festivities will begin with a special screening of the Hollywood classic All About Eve at the Clearview Squire Cinemas, located at 115 Middle Neck Road in Great Neck. Ms. Holm will take the stage after the film to share stories about her magnificent acting career. A dessert reception at GNAC will conclude the evening, sponsored by Bruce's Bakery.

 

Tickets for “A Conversation with Celeste Holm” are $25 general admission, $50 priority seating, and $10 for students, which include both reception and conversation. For information call 516/829-2570.

 

Celeste Holm has been nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar three times (All About Eve, Come to the Stable) and won an Oscar and Golden Globe Award for her performance in Gentleman’s Agreement. She is a star on Broadway, having appeared in many successful shows including Oklahoma!, The Women and Bloomer Girl. She sang the show stopper “I Cain't Say No” in the original Broadway production of Oklahoma! She has been nominated for two Emmy awards and one Daytime Emmy award. Ms. Holm has appeared with such acting luminaries as Betty Davis, Frank Sinatra, Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby, Gregory Peck and Leslie Howard.
